# How to Connect Pabbly Studio MCP to ChatGPT and Build Your First App

What if you could turn an app idea into a working app just by chatting with ChatGPT?

I tested Pabbly Studio’s MCP connection with ChatGPT’s Free plan and built an **Automation Savings Calculator**. In this guide, I’ll walk you through the connection process using screenshots from my setup.

## What does MCP do?

MCP connects ChatGPT to tools in your Pabbly Studio account. Instead of only suggesting code, ChatGPT can use the connected tools to work on your apps.

## Before you start

Sign in to [ChatGPT](https://chatgpt.com/) and your Pabbly Studio account. If you’re new to Studio, start at the [Pabbly Studio website](https://studio.pabbly.com/).

You’ll also need **Pabbly Studio’s MCP server URL** - https://studio.pabbly.com/mcp

The steps below follow the interface shown in my screenshots.

## Step 1: Enable Developer mode

In ChatGPT, open **Settings → Plugins → Developer mode**.

On the screen that opens, switch **Developer mode** ON. In my setup, the toggle appears under **Security and login → Advanced security**.

## Step 2: Create a custom MCP server

Open the [ChatGPT Plugins page](https://chatgpt.com/plugins).

Click the **+** button beside the search field, then select **Create custom MCP server**.

## Step 3: Enter the connection details

Give your connection a recognizable name, such as **Pabbly Studio**.

Enter the following details:

| Field | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Name | Pabbly Studio |
| Server URL | https://studio.pabbly.com/mcp |
| Authentication | OAuth |

Complete the creation flow. If ChatGPT displays an acknowledgment before creating the plugin, review it and continue.

## Step 4: Sign in to Pabbly Studio

When the connection screen appears, click the sign-in button.

I named my connection **PS**, so my screen shows **Add PS to ChatGPT** and **Sign in with PS**. Yours may show the name you chose.

Follow the sign-in flow to reach Pabbly Studio’s authorization page.

## Step 5: Allow the connection

Check that the authorization page shows the correct Pabbly account. Review the permissions, then click **Allow**.

The page lists access to your apps, code, data, and logs, along with permissions to create, deploy, modify, and permanently delete apps. It also mentions build instructions that can spend AI credits.

This is the account access you’re granting when you connect the two services.

## Step 6: Select Pabbly Studio in a new chat

Return to ChatGPT and open a new conversation.

Type **@** in the message box and select your installed Pabbly Studio plugin. If the plugin still needs installation, install it from its detail page first.

Start with a simple connection check:

> Use Pabbly Studio to list my apps.

If ChatGPT returns your apps, the connection is working. If your account has no apps yet, an empty list is an expected result.

## Step 7: Build your first app

For your first build, choose a small app with one page and a clear purpose.

Here’s a prompt for an Automation Savings Calculator:

> Use Pabbly Studio to create a public Automation Savings Calculator with inputs for tasks per day, minutes per task, hourly cost, and working days per month; default to 22 working days, show monthly hours saved and estimated value of time saved, validate inputs, and use a clean mobile-friendly design with no login.

Follow the build conversation and review any requested actions.

Then open the app and test it. For example, **10 tasks per day × 5 minutes × 22 days** should show approximately **18.33 hours saved per month**. At an hourly cost of **₹500**, the estimated value of that time is **₹9,166.67**.
